Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund-Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Comite loisirs et developpement de St-Pierre Baptiste Inc.


SAINT-PIERRE-BAPTISTE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 16, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Christian Paradis, Member of Parliament for Mégantic-L'Érable, Minister of International Development and Minister for La Francophonie, today announced that Comité loisirs et développement de St-Pierre Baptiste Inc. has been granted funding for improvements to the municipality's multi-purpose centre and sports field.

"By supporting this project of the Comité loisirs et développement de St-Pierre Baptiste, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Paradis.

The work will include installing a complete ventilation system in the multi-purpose centre and replacing the boards and liners of the skating rink located next to the building.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $29,561 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
