IOWA CITY, IA--(Marketwired - Oct 7, 2013) - Tutor Universe, Inc., the social marketplace for learning, and Crossroads of Learning, a provider of curriculum, training, and classroom products and services, today announced they have formed an alliance to bring university approved training to Tutor Universe tutors and coaches. Crossroads of Learning has joined Tutor Universe's Associates Program and will promote the Tutor Universe platform and global learning marketplace to Crossroad's network of graduates, trainers, and learning support professionals, worldwide.

As part of the agreement, Crossroads of Learning training will be promoted to the over 8,000 tutors currently using Tutor Universe. The online training programs delivered by Crossroads of Learning were developed with and approved by the National Tutoring Association (NTA) and Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA. The courses are uniquely designed as self-paced, research based, and practitioner focused. Each participant is paired one-to-one with an expert mentor, who reviews all assignments and provides feedback and direction throughout the course. 

This news follows on the heels of Tutor Universe recently releasing a new badging system and Associates Program to verify certifications, accreditations and training completed by tutors. Tutors can now request badges to be displayed on their public profiles that have been verified by networks, associations, and institutions to build trust. Tutor Universe is working with organizations through the Associates Program to provide verification.
