Beaufield Expands Drilling Program at Urban Gold

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 7, 2013) - Beaufield Resources Inc. ("Beaufield" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:BFD) is pleased to announce the expansion of its drilling program currently underway at its 100%-owned Urban property, in Northern Quebec. To date, approximately 1,700 metres have been drilled targeting three distinct areas: Rivage Zone, Lac Rouleau and Lac Kent. Assay results for the first 3 holes have previously been reported (see September 12th, 2013 News Release) and the Company is awaiting assays for the remainder of the six drill holes.

Beaufield's management and exploration team have determined that an additional minimum of 1,000 metres of drilling is warranted on the Zone 18 area where significant gold mineralization is known to occur in brecciated, strongly silicified and moderately carbonatized felsic tuffs. Select historical drilling results are listed below.

  • Hole 87-18 4.80 g/t Au over 3.35m*
  • Hole 87-33 8.98 g/t Au over 4.36m*
  • Hole 87-51 7.64 g/t Au over 7.42 m*
  • Hole 87-63 27.53 g/t Au over 3.05 m*
  • Hole BFRL 401 11.63 g/t Au over 3.73m*
  • Hole BFRL 402 7.65 g/t Au over 4.05m*
* Mesured core length. May not represent actual true width.

Beaufield has contracted Geologica Groupe-Conseil Inc of Val d'Or, Quebec to assist with the revision of historical data and the determination of additional drill targets. In addition to the partially explored Lac Rouleau gold deposit, the extensive Beaufield Urban properties host numerous interesting gold occurrences Grab samples from the Quesnel showing located 1,200 metres southwest of Rouleau assayed 12.84 g/t Au, 6.0% Cu and 30.6 g/t Ag.

The Urban area is the focus of increased gold exploration activity by Beaufield and its neighbours. Both Metanor Resources Inc. and Eagle Hill Exploration Corp. have recently announced the commencement of significant drilling programs on their respective properties. Eagle Hill is undertaking a 25,000 metres drill program on its Windfall property located only 2 kilometres northwest of Beaufield, while Metanor is planning a 15,000 metres drill program on their property which is adjacent to Beaufield's claims. A map is attached showing the location of the major participants undertaking active exploration in the Urban Township.
