The Metropolitan Museum of Art Selects Workday for HR and Finance Technology in the Cloud

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2013) - Workday, Inc. (NYSE: WDAY), a leader in enterprise cloud applications for human resources and finance, announced today that The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's preeminent art museums, has selected Workday's suite of enterprise cloud applications, including Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Workday Financial Management, Workday Payroll, Workday Procurement, Workday Grants Management, and Workday Expenses.

Founded in 1870, the Metropolitan Museum's collections span more than 5,000 years of world culture, from prehistory to the present and from every part of the globe. Last year, the Museum had 6.2 million visitors.

Designed in an object model using in-memory technology, Workday was built to bring HR, finance, and analytics into one seamless system. Delivered through the cloud, the unified applications will provide a composite view of the organization, with greater visibility into operations and actionable analytics to support decision-making.

Workday also will give employees throughout the organization greater self-service capabilities. From any mobile device, employees will have access to information and can act on critical tasks typically reserved for desktops, such as approving invoices and submitting expenses.

In addition, Workday's unified applications include specialized industry capabilities for non-profit and government sectors, including endowment fund accounting which efficiently tracks the distribution of income to individual funds and the expenses against that income. The Metropolitan Museum hopes to utilize this fund management tool to facilitate donor reporting.
