AMVETS Ensures Homeless Heroes Benefit From Music Tour

American Legacy Music Tour Aid Veterans in Seven States

LANHAM, Md., Oct. 29, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, AMVETS has been named as the American Legacy Tour's official charity partner. The live music variety show will visit 10 cities in 10 days and bring greater attention to homelessness in the veteran community.

Tickets are on sale now for the two-hour show, starring Country Music icon Ronnie McDowell and featuring award-winning artists who will perform hit songs from genres including Classic and Outlaw Country, Trop Rock, Motown and Gospel. The tour, which is open to the public, is produced by Rasberry Producer Group with corporate sponsor American National Insurance Company.

"The tour is about delivering some of the best entertainment value possible with one heck of a two-hour show that pays tribute to our heroes at home," said Danny Rasberry, CEO of Rasberry Production Group. "We also wanted to give something back to veterans in all 10 cities on the tour, which is a big job, so we're really excited to have AMVETS on board as our charity partner to see that it gets done."

A portion of the tour's proceeds will be presented to AMVETS for the express purpose of helping veterans at the local level in support of the Homeless Veterans Outreach Initiative led by U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki.

"Not one man or woman who has served and sacrificed for their country should ever go without a safe place to call home," said AMVETS Communications Director, Andrew Keirn. "AMVETS is proud to be partnering with the American Legacy Tour and helping bring aid to the veteran community. These live shows, and the proceeds they earn, will be used to transform the lives of these homeless heroes. This is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of."

The tour opens in Birmingham, Ala., Nov. 4, 2013 and will make several stops with a special Veteran's Day show in Marion, Ind. Nov. 11, and a finale in Nashville, Tenn. Nov. 13. For more information visit www.AmericanLegacyTour.com.
