Minister Clement Tables the 2012-13 Departmental Performance Reports

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 5, 2013) - The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, tabled the 2012-13 Departmental Performance Reports on behalf of 92 federal departments and agencies in the House of Commons today. These reports provide information on the results achieved by government organizations for Canadians.

"Our Government is committed to streamlining, consolidating and standardizing its administrative functions and operations to save money for taxpayers and to ensure that the Public Service of Canada remains affordable, modern, and high-performing. With the 2012-13 Departmental Performance Reports, we are demonstrating our Government's commitment to accountability and transparency," said Minister Clement. "We are proud of the results we have delivered for Canadians."

Departmental Performance Reports are a measure of how well individual organizations met their plans and expected results as set out in their respective annual Reports on Plans and Priorities. They are tabled in Parliament to provide accountability to parliamentarians and all Canadians.

The Government of Canada is continuing to deliver on its commitment to find more cost-effective and environmentally friendly ways to conduct business while maintaining a high level of accountability.

The Government is moving to electronic formats and is currently developing an electronic reporting application that will allow departments to automate the production on Departmental Performance Reports and Reports on Plans and Priorities, further standardizing and streamlining annual reporting processes.
