RAID Inc. Announces a 4U, 60-Bay Ethernet Drive EBOD Solution

ANDOVER, MA--(Marketwired - Nov 5, 2013) - RAID Incorporated has created a revolutionary chassis to efficiently and effectively host a new storage solution made up of independent ethernet-connected drives. This 4U, 60-bay framework with integral 10 GbE Ethernet switching will house drives based on the new Kinetic Open Storage platform internally developed by Seagate.

This storage array provides full redundancy including independent ethernet switching on each I/O module, an RJ45 management connection that is independent of the data plane, integrated environmental management, and point-to-point connections between board service processors. Every hard drive can be powered on and controlled independently through this management subsystem, which supports both SSL and HTTPS (web-based) interfaces.

"This technology will impact the landscape of cloud, archival, and tier 3 storage solutions. By leveraging existing network infrastructures, this innovation will significantly lower costs and greatly expand data storage platforms," says RAID Inc. CEO, Bob Picardi.

RAID, Inc. will display this solution in their booth 3128 at SuperComputing 2013, hosted in the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO November 18-21, 2013.

General availability of this solution begins quarter one, 2014.
