J.A.G. Mines Ltd.: 2013 Exploration Campaign in Belleterre

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 11, 2013) - J.A.G. Mines Ltd (JAG) (TSX VENTURE:JML) wish to announce the end of the 2013 exploration campaign on its gold Belleterre property located in the Temiscamingue area. During a two months period, a geological team has conducted exploration in the central and southeastern parts of the Belleterre property. Surface work led to the discovery of numerous new sulphide showings located along new logging roads (e.g. JAG's number 2, 3 ,4, 5 & 6 showings). These showings are spatially associated with weathered intrusive porphyres (e.g. JAG's number 3 showing) and with shear zones. The East-Aubelle-2, Boudrias, Village, Castor and JAG-3 gold showings were the object of mechanical stripping and channel sampling. Analytical results will be available soon.

A detailed gravimetric survey of the Belleterre property was also conducted by a team from INRS-ETE during the 2013 campaign. The main objective of this survey was to increase the amount of gravimetric data measured on the property so that a multi-scale edge detection method (worming) could be used to localize long wavelength gravimetric discontinuities. It is assumed that this method could allow identification of the main regional structures that are believed to be hosts of the intrusive porphyry and associated gold mineralizations. It is also assumed that it could be used to verify the possible presence of a felsic intrusive body at depth and that of volcanogenic massive sulphides, since numerous base metal showings (Cu, Zn) were observed in volcanic and gabbroic rocks of the property. This gravimetric survey will be interpreted in light of the audiomagnetotelluric survey that was conducted by JAG in 2012.

Note that these major regional mineralized structures are the subject of a Ph.D. thesis by M. Koita. The Ph.D. thesis is under the supervision of Professors Marc R. LaFlèche and Lyall Harris from INRS-ETE and is sponsored by JAG.
