Birchcliff Energy Ltd. Announces Quarterly Preferred Share Dividend

Birchcliff Energy Ltd. ("Birchcliff") (TSX:BIR) today announced that its Board of Directors has declared the following dividends on its outstanding preferred shares:

• A quarterly cash dividend of $0.50 per share for the calendar quarter ending on December 31, 2013, on Birchcliff's outstanding Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Shares, Series A. The dividend is payable on December 31, 2013 to shareholders of record as at the close of business on December 16, 2013. The dividend is designated as an eligible dividend for purposes of the Income Tax Act (Canada); and
  
  
• A quarterly cash dividend of $0.4375 per share for the calendar quarter ending on December 31, 2013, on Birchcliff's outstanding Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Shares, Series C. The dividend is payable on December 31, 2013 to shareholders of record as at the close of business on December 16, 2013. The dividend is designated as an eligible dividend for purposes of the Income Tax Act (Canada).
