My Hope Chest Celebrates 10 Years of Aiding Breast Cancer Survivors

The Only National Non-Profit Providing Reconstruction for Uninsured & Under Insured Women Commemorates a Decade of Work

SEMINOLE, FL--(Marketwired - Dec 10, 2013) - This month, My Hope Chest celebrates its 10 year anniversary as the only national non-profit organization in the nation providing breast reconstruction surgery for under insured and uninsured survivors of breast cancer.

"It has been a long road since 2003. From board meetings in my living room to seeing the growth of our charity as a whole has been remarkable," said My Hope Chest Founder Alisa Savoretti. "My Hope Chest owes a huge debt of thanks to so many who continue to donate their time and talents to our cause."

Since the launch of My Hope Chest in 2003, the grassroots organization has worked tirelessly through advocacy, education and fundraising, towards increasing awareness of the lesser-known issue of inadequate funding for breast cancer reconstruction -- the final step in treatment. The charity has a growing wait list of applicants seeking this surgery as closure from the disease.

"This 10-year anniversary for My Hope Chest marks a decade of commitment to breast cancer survivors everywhere - giving hope where there was none and making sure no one has to go without this final step of breast cancer treatment," said board member Angelique Neumann. "I am so honored to be a part of this amazing board and volunteers that continue a mission to heal and change lives."

Savoretti concluded, "We have a long way to go but I can't deny that hearing the voices and reading the letters from breast cancer survivors transformed from our work has been worth every second."
