Wood Partners Hires Noted Multifamily Housing Executive

Kim Small Brings Vast Experience and Expertise to New Role at Wood Partners as Regional Vice President for Company's Central Region

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Dec 11, 2013) - Wood Partners has hired Kim Small, a noted veteran in the industry who has managed apartment properties across the United States for several Houston-based companies, as Regional Vice President for its Central Region. Small will be responsible for leading and directing all functions of property management in conjunction with Wood Partners' strategies for the region's portfolio of projects under development and existing assets.

"We're bulking up our management experience in the Central Region, where we have more than 6,000 stabilized units and over 1,500 units in the pipeline," said Patrick Trask, director for Wood Partners in the Central Region, which includes Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Utah and Chicago. "We are fortunate to have such a high caliber professional with her skill sets, track record and business relationships. Kim will be a great leader of Wood Residential Services in the region."

Over the last five years, Small was head of The Morgan Group's national property management company. She was instrumental in adding key value to new developments and stabilized assets, driving profits and putting together some of the most well respected and admired teams across the country. Prior to joining Morgan, Small was a driving force behind the growth of Alliance Residential's central region. Under her leadership, the company's portfolio in the central region more than doubled. Much of her earlier career was spent at Gables Residential and its predecessor, Trammell Crow, where she specialized in lease-ups and later served as regional vice president of third party assets in several states.

The 2011 president of the Houston Apartment Association (the largest apartment association in the United States), Small was included in the Institute of Real Estate Management's elite group of "Women Changing the World of Real Estate Management." She is a Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) and studied interior design at the University of Houston.

"I've known Wood Partners through the years and I'm thrilled to be working for such a stellar company with so many great developers and operators," Small said.
