Government of Canada Supports 2014 Quebec Championship, a PGA Champions Tour Event

LÉVIS, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec. 13, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the Legends of Golf Foundation has been granted funding for the promotion on external markets of the 2014 Québec Championship, an official event on the PGA Champions Tour.

"Professional golf is enjoying ever-growing popularity, and we are proud to help world-class cultural and sporting events stimulate foreign investment and increase their revenues from tourism," said Minister Lebel.

The Québec Championship will take place from September 1 to 7, 2014, at the La Tempête golf course in Lévis. This will be the greater Québec region's first time hosting the PGA Champions Tour event. The Championship is expected to draw a large number of fans from near and far and enjoy extensive media coverage, which will help showcase the city, its hospitality and its attractions.

To promote the 2014 Québec Championship around the world, the Legends of Golf Foundation will, as in past years, enlist the services of the American cable television network's Golf Channel to broadcast the tournament live and will conduct a prior advertising campaign on external markets, notably in the United States.
