Softing acquired Psiber Data

Effective as of January 1st, 2014, Softing AG has acquired 100% of the
shares of Psiber Data GmbH, headquartered in Krailling, south of Munich.
Softing puts into practice its search for companies with a tight strategic
fit, as Softing has communicated in recent months. Psiber is a profitable
company with a growing product portfolio consisting of Psiber's own
products and distribution products.
Psiber is a provider of devices for the diagnosis of Ethernet cables
(copper and fiber optics) which are used in industrial automation networks,
in office networks and in the communication backbones of computer centers.
Psiber is a technology leader in this market. It is the only company with
devices capable of measuring cables up to the latest CAT 8 specifications.
Softing is a leading provider of mobile devices for the diagnosis of
networks in the industrial automation sector. Softing's main focus is
currently on PROFIBUS networks. Softing does not yet have its own mobile
devices for the fast growing market of Ethernet networks in the industrial
automation sector.
The acquisition of Psiber will not only enable Softing to close its
strategic gap of mobile devices for Ethernet networks, it will also give
Softing access to the fast growing market of devices to diagnose copper and
fiber optic networks in office installations and computer centers.
With the acquisition of Psiber, Softing expects to increase its 2014
revenue with devices for the diagnosis of cables and supported networks to
a total of approx. EUR 10 million. Due to the initial integration costs it
is too early to give numbers for the 2014 EBIT effects of the acquisition.
Both parties have agreed to maintain silence about the purchase price. The
acquisition is entirely financed with Softing's existing cash position.
