La Mesa Police Department, Calif. Selects New World Systems' Public Safety Solutions

TROY, Mich., Dec. 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The City of La Mesa, Calif. Police Department is upgrading their public safety software and technology to enhance emergency response. The Police Department has selected New World Systems' integrated suite of Aegis™ Public Safety applications to replace an older hosted system that is no longer meeting the City's needs.

"We are in need of a dispatch software upgrade, and New World offers the very best solution we could find," said Captain Dan Willis. "The Police Department is looking forward to having a new innovative system, something that is upgraded regularly, and a solution that will continue to grow with us in the future."

New World is providing the La Mesa Police Department with Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Mobile Computing software built on the latest Microsoft technology. Per the agreement signed with New World, the Police Department will have reliable support and ongoing software enhancements.

"New World's CAD offers the functionality we were looking for; it is visually appealing and user friendly," said Amber Lashbrook, Communications Supervisor. "The screens aren't as busy as some of the other CAD systems we've seen."

New World's integrated CAD and Mobile solutions will provide a seamless flow of information and communication between applications to keep dispatchers and first responders safe and informed. Advanced workflow between applications will also help reduce redundant data entry and the need to keep manual logs and spreadsheets. Built-in modern mapping and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) will help the Police Department decrease emergency response times.

Lashbrook said that "New World offers everything a dispatch center needs, built into the software. Information will be more readily available for everyone, and we will see huge time-saving benefits with the ability to eliminate all of our collateral systems and extra Excel® spreadsheets."

La Mesa Police Department officials are looking forward to completing the implementation of New World's software, the same system that neighboring City of El Cajon has been using successfully for several years. New World's software will help the Police Department improve service to more than 57,000 residents.

Trusted by more than 1,000 public sector organizations nationwide, New World Systems designs, develops, markets, supports and implements the integrated Aegis™ Suite of Public Safety Solutions for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS and Logos.NET™ Public Administration Suite for local governments.
