Cambridge House International Announces Collaboration of B.C. Ministry of Energy & Mines and Province's Top Mineral Developers

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 6, 2014) - Cambridge House International is pleased to announce an upcoming collaboration between the B.C. Ministry of Energy & Mines, and the province's top mineral developers, entitled, "B.C. Emerging Projects". The information session will take place at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC) 2014, and will feature presentations delivered by executives representing both sides of the industry.

In recent conversation with personnel at the B.C. Ministry of Energy & Mines, it was discovered that although over the last ten years the region's mineral development activity has seen substantial growth, following the 2009 recession and subsequent slow-down in activity, the Ministry has made significant efforts to reduce the size of its government and improve the speed of permitting for developers. Much like the private sector, the Ministry is seeking out "process redundancies", in an effort to remain, "Committed to balanced budgets in th[e] province," a source from the Ministry said on Monday, "and to do that it means the smallest government possible."

To comment on the formal initiatives taken by the Ministry to encourage mineral investment and activity in the region will be Bruce Madu, Director, B.C. Mineral Development Office of the B.C. Ministry of Energy & Mines, and the Honourable Bill Bennett, Minister, B.C. Ministry of Energy & Mines.

Delivering presentations from the private sector will be executives representing the province's largest and most prospective mineral deposits, namely; Seabridge Gold and the KSM Project, Pretium Resources and the Brucejack Project, Chieftain Metals Corp. and the Tulsequah Chief Project, and Banks Island Gold Ltd. and the Red Mountain Gold and Yellow Giant Gold Projects.

Particulars shared from both the public and private sides of B.C.'s mineral development community should provide a well-rounded summary of the province's current political environment for mining. Political environment is often the most important determinant in whether or not an economic deposit is moved into production, therefore a careful study of this session may be profitable to investors and mineral developers considering the region.

The "B.C. Emerging Projects" session will take place on Monday, January 20th, from 8:30-10:00 a.m., PST, at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference 2014, Vancouver Convention Centre West. Due to limited capacity, free online registration is advised, and available for a limited time only.
