Davis, CA, Jan. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Freedom Motors is the exclusive licensee for non-aviation use of the Rotapower^® rotary engine technology developed by Moller International, Inc. (OTC-QB: MLER), the developer of the Skycar^®and Neuera™ aircraft.  Freedom Motors announced today that it has entered into a formal agreement with ALIFE Air Automobiles PTE Ltd of Singapore ("ALIFE") to work together to manufacture, assemble, promote and distribute ALIFE products using the Rotapower^® engine.  ALIFE will provide Freedom Motors with appropriate funding to cover the costs of producing and integrating its engine into AIR BIKE motorcycles and ALIFE automobiles. This follows the earlier receipt of a letter of intent (LOI) from ALIFE to purchase increasing numbers of engines with the expectation of requiring over one million engines per year four years after initial delivery.

In addition to the engine request from ALIFE, Freedom Motors has received LOI for over 2.5 million engines from other potential users.

Moller International (MI) was created in 1983 when it was determined that a practical VTOL aircraft (a "volantor") was possible due to the development of a unique rotary engine by Dr. Felix Wankel.  In 1985 it acquired the entire rotary engine assets of Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) who had produced rotary engines to power their snowmobiles and outboards.  In 1989 the Neuera volantor was flown before members of the press powered by rotary engines.  MI then began the development of a high-speed volantor, which it called Skycar^®.
