On January 11, 2014, Elmer Kiseyinewakup, an inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre died at the institutional hospital in Saskatoon.

At the time of his death, Mr. Kiseyinewakup, 63 years old, had been serving a sentence of 2 years for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Disqualified since November 6, 2012.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
