On January 11, 2014, Danny Richard, an inmate from the Federal Training Center died at a local hospital in Montréal.

At the time of his death, Mr. Danny Richard, 40 years old, had been serving a sentence of 6 years and 6 months for sexual assault, assault with a weapon, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation and uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm, since March 27, 2008.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
