National Security Technologies Selects Avaya Collaboration Solutions

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 14, 2014) -

  • Organization will use Avaya Aura® Unified Communications and Avaya Scopia® Desktop video conferencing to modernize communications infrastructure and improve reliability.
  • Solution estimated to save $2 million in annual operating costs.

Today Avaya Government Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avaya, announced that National Security Technologies (NSTec) has selected a new Avaya unified communication and video solution to modernize the infrastructure used by its clients and significantly reduce operating costs.

NSTec manages operations at the Nevada National Security Site for the U.S. Department of Energy. The legacy voice and video infrastructure NSTec oversees had become expensive to repair and maintain.

NSTec decided to invest in an Avaya platform to enhance collaboration and deliver the reliability needed to support its mission. An extensive business case developed by Avaya Government Solutions estimates that NSTec can realize more than $2 million a year in recurring savings on operating costs with the new system, which will serve approximately 4,500 personnel.

NSTec and its clients will improve productivity by using Avaya Scopia video conferencing to support team meetings -- eliminating the time and expense of travel from remote sites. Avaya Scopia also will significantly increase the capacity to deliver video-based training.
