ASP-DAC Presents Vennsa Technologies' CEO With 10-Year Retrospective Most Influential Paper Award

Paper Outlined Technology That Became Vennsa's OnPoint, RTL Debugging Software

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Jan 21, 2014) - Dr. Andreas Veneris, president and chief executive officer of Vennsa Technologies Inc., will be the recipient of the 10-year Retrospective Most Influential Paper Award at the 19th Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference (ASP-DAC).

The ASP-DAC 2014 Technical Program Committee selected the 2004 ASP-DAC paper, "Design Diagnosis Using Boolean Satisfiability," co-authored by Dr. Veneris as the most influential paper from among those selected that year. ASP-DAC will be held January 20-23 in Suntec, Singapore. The award ceremony will be held Wednesday, January 22.

According to Dr. Veneris, "This 2004 paper described the original work from which Vennsa is based, and the one that radically and permanently changed the field of debugging. To popular acclaim, debugging is the main bottleneck and central theme in verification for the next five years."

Founded in 2006, Vennsa has become the leading supplier of automated debugging and error localization software for register transfer level (RTL) debugging. The 2004 paper outlined the fundamental patented technology behind automated debugging using satisfiability techniques that allow for debugging to become an automated process. That technology became Vennsa's OnPoint™, register transfer level (RTL) debugging and error localization software. Since then, numerous research groups and companies have used the basic technique tailored to their needs. Today OnPoint has enjoyed widespread adoption in Asia.
