Louisiana Banker Joins Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Board


DELHI, La., Jan. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) is pleased to welcome Albert C. Christman to its Board of Directors (FHLB Dallas Board). Mr. Christman's term on the FHLB Dallas Board began on January 1, 2014. He will serve a four-year term that will expire on December 31, 2017.

Mr. Christman has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. Currently he serves as director, president, and chief executive officer of Guaranty Bank & Trust Company of Delhi in Delhi, Louisiana. Prior to joining Guaranty Bank & Trust Company of Delhi, Mr. Christman served as president and CEO of TYCHE, Inc., a health management company. Mr. Christman's early career included positions with the Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Department of State, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation.

"Mr. Christman has an extensive financial services background and he will be a great asset to the FHLB Dallas Board," said FHLB Dallas Interim President and CEO Paul Joiner. "I think he will bring a unique perspective and valuable insight to the FHLB Dallas Board."

Mr. Christman has been appointed to serve on the Strategic Planning and Risk Management committees of the FHLB Dallas Board.

Outside of his duties at Guaranty Bank & Trust Company of Delhi, Mr. Christman is also a member of the Louisiana Bankers Association, and is past chairman of its board of directors. He is also chairman of the board of the Delhi Charter School, and a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America and the Institute of Certified Bankers.

Mr. Christman is devoted to his family. He and his wife, Caroline, have two adult daughters and five grandchildren – all boys. He is also an active member of Delhi Presbyterian Church, where he serves as Clerk of the Session.

Mr. Christman received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Louisiana Tech University. He is also a graduate of the Louisiana Bankers Association School of Banking and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware.
