New President and CEO Named at TopLine Federal Credit Union

MAPLE GROVE, MN--(Marketwired - Jan 28, 2014) - TopLine Federal Credit Union has announced that Executive Vice President and COO Tom Smith has been appointed as the credit union's new President and CEO by its Board of Directors. Smith succeeded Harry Carter, who retired December 31, 2013. Carter served as TopLine's President and CEO since 1999.

A graduate of St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, Tom joined TopLine Federal Credit Union in May 2008 as Chief Lending Officer. He has worked in the financial services industry for over 29 years, with more than 19 years of leadership experience. Prior to joining TopLine, Tom served as Vice President of Credit and Compliance at Marquette Consumer Finance. Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors of CU Companies as Vice Chair, and also serves on the Board of Directors of North Hennepin Community College Foundation and MN Credit Union Services Corporation (MNCUSC). Tom is also a member of the Political Involvement Committee for the Minnesota Credit Union Network.
