HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Jan 29, 2014) - Cindi Johnson, CPA, was elected to the Houston chapter of the Society of Certified Public Accountants (HSCPA) Board of Directors January 15, 2014.
A certified public accountant with over 30 years of experience, Johnson spent the last two years serving as the chairman of the Relations with Taxing Authority Committee. The dedication and effort Johnson exhibited in fostering an open dialogue between taxing authorities and accounting professionals while on the committee earned her the award for outstanding committee chairman of the year.
In addition to her duties as an HSCPA member, Johnson also sat on the advisory board for Woodway Financial in 2013 and has provided litigation support in trust and estate matters for Houston attorneys over the last 15 years. This wide range of experience enables her to provide keen insight and informed advice as she moves forward into her new role on the board.
Johnson looks forward to her new position as a member of the HSCPA board and to helping resolve problems in a timely, efficient manner. When asked about her thoughts on the election, Cindi said, "The accounting profession has been very good to me through the years, providing opportunities that I never believed possible.
