Environmental Waste International Tire Recycling Technology Demonstrates Significantly Reduced Carbon Emissions

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 10, 2014) - Environmental Waste International Inc. ("EWS") (TSX VENTURE:EWS) (the "Company"), a company specializing in eco-friendly systems with proven patented technology for the breakdown of organic materials, today reported an additional advantage of its process, namely a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

The results reported by Pinchin Environmental Ltd. demonstrate that EWS's Reverse Polymerization™ process and proprietary microwave delivery system significantly lower carbon dioxide emissions compared to the two most commonly used waste tire recycling options, incineration and crumb rubber recycling. According to the Rubber Manufacturers Association approximately 45% of waste tires in the United States are incinerated and approximately 29% are converted to crumb rubber.

Based on the results, Environmental Waste's technology emits significantly lower amounts of carbon dioxide compared to the actual and avoided emissions associated with each alternative. The disposal of one million scrap tires via the EWS process emits 12,166 tonnes fewer carbon dioxide equivalents compared to incineration, and 3,136 tonnes fewer carbon dioxide equivalents compared to the production of crumb rubber. In a nutshell, EWI's process significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, the major cause of climate change, when compared to the alternatives.

Daniel Kaute, CEO of EWS, stated, "This analysis validates our belief that we can evolve into one of the leading "green" industrial companies. It is another signpost in our march to commercialization."

The analysis was conducted by Pinchin Environmental Ltd., one of Canada's largest environmental, health and safety consulting firms. For more information on Pinchin, please visit www.pinchin.com. A copy of their report is available upon request.
