Somnia Anesthesia Seeks Nominations for Third Annual CRNA of the Year Award

Contest Launched During National Nurse Anesthetists Week, Winner to Be Announced February 24

NEW ROCHELLE, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 12, 2014) -  In celebration of National Nurse Anesthetists Week, Somnia Anesthesia will once again recognize an outstanding Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in its third annual "CRNA of the Year" contest, the company announced. The anesthesia practice management company serving hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and office-based practices nationwide will be accepting nominations of CRNAs from throughout the country through February 20 at midnight.

CRNAs can be nominated using our online survey by a fellow CRNA, physician, or other healthcare professional. The winner, who will be selected by a panel of senior-level healthcare clinicians and administrators, will be announced on February 24 and will receive an iPad mini.

The previous two winners, Holly Robins, CRNA, MS, MBA (2012), and Dorothea Connolly, CRNA (2013), were both very accomplished and well respected within their facilities and amongst their patients. Ms. Robins, manager of nurse anesthesia at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT, and last year's winner, was recognized because of her dedication to the profession at-large. "It is a privilege to be a nurse anesthetist, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in such a dynamic profession."

"It is truly a privilege to hold this event recognizing the Nurse Anesthetists across the country for all of their dedication, hard work and high quality care," said Brandy Pearson, Somnia's national director of recruitment. "The response for the previous two years of these awards was overwhelming and we are looking forward to an even larger turn-out this year. We are so happy to be recognizing these individuals as they are such an important part of our network."
