Using a Microsoft tablet PC to create an electronic source record (ESR), data and source documents were available immediately and site users were able to completely eliminate the need to re-enter clinical data into an electronic data capture (EDC) system. The ESR also eliminated the need to perform source data verification and provided monitors with full access to remotely review original site documents.
