Clinical Ink Wins 2014 Best Practice Award for Study Startup, Design Excellence

Award Recognizes Clinical Ink for Outstanding Strategic Innovation, Study Execution and Collaboration

HORSHAM, PA--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2014) -  Clinical Ink today announced that the company has received the 2014 Best Practice Award from Clinical Informatics News. The award recognizes Clinical Ink's eSource solution and remote monitoring capabilities for dramatically improving study execution and collaboration as part of a tuberculosis vaccine study in South Africa.

"This award is a testament to the unparalleled time and cost savings, clean data delivery, and remote monitoring capabilities of Clinical Ink's SureSource™ platform," said Ed Seguine, CEO, Clinical Ink. "As the first and only native-electronic eSource solution, this award reaffirms the many benefits of SureSource, including its ability to dramatically lower the barriers to conducting research in isolated and remote locations."

Clinical Ink's award-winning study involved more than 300 users collecting data electronically and in real-time over a nine month period from 465 subjects. Using a Microsoft tablet PC to create an electronic source record (ESR), data and source documents were available immediately and site users were able to completely eliminate the need to re-enter clinical data into an electronic data capture (EDC) system. The ESR also eliminated the need to perform source data verification and provided monitors with full access to remotely review original site documents.

An awards panel of seven industry judges rated Clinical Ink on several criteria, including innovation, importance, return on investment, likely industry impact and deployment of novel technologies. Established in 2013, the Clinical Informatics News Best Practice Awards program recognizes clinical organizations for outstanding partnerships, deployments or collaborations that improve the clinical trial process.
