ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2014) -  Decision Lens, the leading provider of cloud-based prioritization and resource optimization software, announced today that it has been chosen by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) to assist its CIO and senior governance team to prioritize and plan future IT projects that require millions in toll payer dollars to be spent. The use of Decision Lens, which is already deployed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, will provide complete transparency into how decisions were arrived at regarding the forecasted spending of millions of toll-collected dollars concerning much needed IT modernization projects for the commission.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) was created in 1937 to construct, finance, operate, and maintain the Pennsylvania Turnpike, with funds coming directly from roadway tolls instead of taxes. The commission consists of five members. Four members are appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania. The fifth member is the Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation. In addition to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the commission also operates four other highways, two of which are currently under construction. The PTC is the only transportation agency in Pennsylvania that is not part of PennDOT, though it does follow current PennDOT policies and procedures.
