NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 14, 2014) - Randi Altman, editor-in-chief of postPerspective™ (postperspective.com) and the weekly postPerspective Update newsletter, will moderate a panel on postproduction in the cloud at SportsPost:NY on Feb. 26.
Hosted by Sports Video Group and HBO, the second annual SportsPost:NY event will bring together leading postproduction executives, producers, editors, graphics professionals, and technology manufacturers for lively discussions of the industry's latest tools, projects, and design philosophies.
The panel discussion "Breaking Down Collaborative Walls: Postproduction in the Cloud" will address a number of questions about the effect of cloud collaboration on broadcasters with workflows distributed across in-house and geographically separated facilities.
"We're going to look at what can and can't be done in the cloud, and when and where it's most useful," Altman said. "We'll address the economic and creative advantages of shifting workflows to distributed shared networks; how security and redundancy get handled; and the differences between collaborative cloud workflows at smaller facilities versus those used for worldwide sporting events like the Winter Games."
Participating in the panel will be Alex Grossman, VP Media and Entertainment at Quantum; Mike Jackman, Chief Business Development Officer at Brevity Ventures/EVP of Post Production at FilmNation Entertainment; and Art Raymond, CEO at Levels Beyond.
