Align Technology Announces 2014 Invisalign(R) Gallery University Challenge

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 14, 2014) - Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN) today announced the 2014 Invisalign Gallery University Challenge. This is the second year Align is hosting this competitive program that encourages Invisalign-integrated orthodontic residency programs in North America to submit their best Invisalign treatment outcomes in one of four clinical categories: Class I, Class II, Class III, and multidiscipline. All submissions will be reviewed by private practice orthodontists and judged based on treatment difficulty, records quality, and outcomes achieved. The Invisalign Gallery University Challenge is a complement to the popular Invisalign Gallery program for practicing Invisalign orthodontists and general dentists.

"For the past several years, Align has sponsored the Invisalign Gallery program through which clinicians share their best Invisalign treatment outcomes with their peers," said John Morton, director of research and technology at Align. "The University Challenge program is a way to highlight the successes of the next generation of clinicians."

The orthodontic residents who receive the top score in each of the four clinical categories and their supervising faculty members will be invited to present their treatment results at the 2014 Invisalign Ortho Summit in Las Vegas between November 13 and 16, 2014. In addition, the orthodontic programs of the first, second and third place winners in each category will receive award donations of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively from Align. All submitted entries will also be published in the 2014 Invisalign Gallery University Challenge case book.
