West Mountain Announces Appointment of New Director and Option Grant

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Feb. 14, 2014) - West Mountain Capital Corp. (TSX VENTURE:WMT) (the "Company" or "West Mountain") is pleased to announce that it has appointed The Honourable George J. Furey, Q.C., B.A., B.A. (Ed.), M.Ed., LL.B. to its Board of Directors.

A member of the Canadian Senate since 1999, Senator Furey is currently Deputy Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration, a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament, as well as a member of the Senate Audit Committee. Senator Furey is a prominent Newfoundlander and Labradorian with deep roots in his community. Before being appointed to the Senate, Senator Furey served his province as both an educator and a lawyer. He was appointed to the Provincial Police Complaints Commission in 1993 and appointed as Queen's Counsel in 1996. Senator Furey has contributed his time to numerous charitable groups, professional boards and provincial commissions and is currently the director and a member of the governance, compensation and audit committees of Canada Fluorspar Inc., a publicly traded company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

The Company has also granted options to acquire 1,134,000 common shares to various directors and officers of the Company including options to acquire 100,000 common shares issued to Senator Furey. The options have an exercise price of $0.27, with 50% vesting in 6 months and 50% vesting in 12 months from the date of grant, and expire on the date that is five years from the date of grant. The Corporation has determined that exemptions from the various requirements of TSX Venture Exchange Policy 5.9 are available for the granting of the options.
