Dedication of Veterans and Family Housing Units February 19th 2014

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Feb 17, 2014) -

"The Marine LCPL Ryan A. Miller House"
This veteran's home was proudly constructed through the dedication and hard work of the Camp Construction Family and in loving memory of Marine Lance Corporal Ryan A. Miller. Lance Cpl. Miller was a third generation Marine from Pearland, Texas who served with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Lance Cpl. Miller died in combat operations against enemy forces, while proudly serving his country in Barwanah, Iraq.

"The SPC Andrew Burkhead House"
This veteran's home was proudly made possible through the support and generosity of Carolyn Cross and Friends and in loving memory of Specialist Andrew Burkhead. SPC Burkhead joined the U.S. Army at age 30 and served in the Infantry and then in the 75th Ranger Regiment. He proudly served his country during three tours of combat in Afghanistan before succumbing to PTSD after returning home.

The family of LCPL Ryan A. Miller will be in attendance for this dedication. We are awaiting confirmation from members of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

National and local businesses such as Greystar, Joe Myers Ford, Camp Construction, Sherwin Williams, Glidden, Shepard Forest Plumbing, HD Supply, Rencon and many others, including soldiers from the 75th Ranger Regiment helped make these two new houses a reality. The Camp Hope staff are working to assist veterans in putting the pieces of their lives back together by incorporating a faith-based approach to help combat the effects of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). Many warriors are coming home with visible wounds; countless others are coming home with scars we cannot see, wounded souls from witnessing the horrors of war over and over again -- PTS. The VA is now projecting 150,000 veterans will take their own lives over the next 10 years. That is 41 each and every day. It is our belief that we must make our communities aware and better prepared to welcome our troops home.
