Highland Announces Amended Terms of Non-Brokered Private Placement

Highland Copper Company Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HI) (the "Company") announces an increase to the size of its previously announced non-brokered private placement of common shares from C$25 million to up to C$ 55 million. The Offering will consist of up to 110,000,000 common shares (the "Shares") at a price of $0.50 per Share (the "Offering").

The Company intends to use the proceeds from the Offering to fund the acquisition of the Copperwood project from Orvana Minerals Corp. (see news release of February 11, 2014) and for exploration and development of the Company's mineral projects located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, USA, and for general corporate purposes.

The Offering is subject to certain conditions including but not limited to the receipt of all required regulatory approvals and consents, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange ("TSXV"), completion of the interim closing of the acquisition of the White Pine Project from Copper Range Company, a subsidiary of First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (see news release of November 19, 2013) and completion of the acquisition of the Copperwood project.

The Company expects that the closing of the Offering will occur by the end of April 2014, provided that the Company may close earlier on a portion of the Offering in circumstances where some purchasers waive certain of the Offering conditions. The Shares issuable pursuant to the Offering will be subject to a hold period expiring four months and one day after the closing date. In connection with the Offering, the Company may pay finder's fees to qualified finders in accordance with the policies of the TSXV.
