A First in North America: A Tesla Model S Taxicab on the Streets of Quebec City Thanks to 4Degrees

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 3, 2014) - 4Degrees, the firm behind the largest eco-responsible Internet colocation centre in Quebec City, has sponsored the very first all-electric Tesla brand taxicab in North America, according to Tesla Motors.

The vehicle, a Tesla Model S bearing the 4Degrees colours, will take to the streets of Quebec City by 8 March. The capacities of the taxicab will be tested intensively by Mr. Christian Roy, a taxi driver with several years of experience who plans to travel more than 320,000 km (200,000 mi) in 5 years behind the wheel of the electric car. Mr. Roy believes the car will allow him to save close to $8,000 in fuel costs every year. He also intends to write progress reports in order to share his experience with other cab drivers who may be interested in joining the adventure.
