Mother's Day Inspires an Unforgettable Lunch Among Restaurants in Canary Wharf

Get Mum Out of the Kitchen and Into the London Marriott Hotel West India Quay for a Special Three-Course Lunch

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Mar 20, 2014) - Mother's Day is just around the corner, and the London Marriott Hotel West India Quay is doing its part to ensure the holiday is a success. Recognising the myriad ways mothers make the world a better place -- from tending runny noses, to running corporations -- the hotel's Canary Wharf steakhouse, Manhattan Grill, has composed a celebratory menu designed to bring families together much the same way mothers do every day.

The three-course menu begins with a choice of starters where the diversity accommodates meat-lovers as much as vegetarians and pescetarians. Guests can choose from asparagus soup, Loch Fyne smoked salmon and braised-ham jelly terrine before moving on to the star of the menu: the roasts.

Served whole, the two roast options include a corn-fed chicken or a striploin of Aberdeen Angus beef. Because it's presented in a family-style way, guests can choose to carve the meat themselves or allow one of the chefs to slice it up instead. Other menu choices feature grilled Scottish salmon fillet and spinach-and-ricotta lasagne.

Manhattan Grill has earned a reputation among Canary Wharf restaurants for selecting premium cuts of meat and then expertly preparing them in a way that spotlights their natural flavours. Fuss and frill are abandoned in favour of straightforward sides, and this Mother's Day menu is no exception. Yorkshire pudding, duck-fat roasted potatoes, cauliflower cheese and minted peas and carrots accompany the roasts for a satisfying meal just like (or maybe a little better than) Mom used to make.

To end the lunch on a sweet note, Manhattan Grill's chefs have devised a tempting trio of dessert choices. Guests can choose from Quay lime pie with red-berry compote, apple crumble with bourbon custard and, every mother's favourite, chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream.

Manhattan Grill is usually closed on Sundays but will open for this special event. The set menu is available between noon and 4:30 p.m. on March 30, 2014 for £24 per person. Reservations can be made online at http://manhattangrill.co.uk/ or by phone at (44) 0207 517 2808.
