Hygeia Solutions Partners Awarded Task Order for Full System Development Life-Cycle Support of Physical Security and Emergency Management Systems at NIH

FALLS CHURCH, VA--(Marketwired - Mar 24, 2014) - Hygeia Solutions Partners (Hygeia), a joint venture between IntelliDyne, LLC, Govplace, Argentys and Earth Resources Technology (ERT), focused on innovative health information technology (IT) solutions, today announced it has received a task order from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The team will assist the Office of Research Services Division of Physical Security Management (DPSM) with full System Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) support across all of NIH's physical security and emergency management systems and platforms. The task order also provides consolidated program management to oversee security system design, development, installation and integration, as well as operations and maintenance projects. The award is valued at $66.3 million for a base year and six option years. Hygeia is joined in this effort by a team of highly experienced partners, ASG Security, Spatial Systems Associates, Oneida Communications, PURVIS Systems, Inc., Naturespace and Airship.

"We're proud to support NIH DPSM in strengthening NIH's physical security and emergency management systems," said Brian Seagrave, Vice President and General Manager, Govplace Solutions & Services. "The Hygeia team's knowledge of health IT, security solutions and program management for federal agencies gives us a distinctive advantage when partnering with NIH DPSM to meet the mission."

The task order is intended to enhance the security and emergency management technology environment for all NIH-owned and leased facilities. The program is designed to enable the rapid design and deployment of security technologies and mitigate risks that are introduced when slow acquisition processes for security-related technology purchases cause delays in implementation. Under the task order, Hygeia will provide services across a variety of security related NIH projects, including:

  • Centralized Program and Project Management Services
  • Security Technology SDLC Support
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services
  • Physical Security Information Management Systems (PSIMS) Support
  • Emergency Management System (EMS) Support
  • Communications Technology Infrastructure Support

"The work being conducted at NIH does not just benefit the United States, but continues to improve the health and lives of individuals throughout the world. As the threats the nation faces become more sophisticated, it is important that our physical security and emergency management systems be up to the task. We're looking forward to supporting DPSM in nimbly maintaining and continuously improving a secure and safe environment for NIH that promotes its mission and goals," added Seagrave.
