Carr Joins Top Wine App Business From Springpad, a Venture-Funded Evernote Competitor

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2014) - Drync, a top wine app and leader in visual commerce, today announced it has expanded its executive team with the addition of Brian Carr, who has been named COO of the company. Carr comes to Drync from Springpad, a venture-funded Evernote competitor and TIME Magazine top 50 app two years running, where he was VP of Marketing.

At Springpad, Carr drove all of the company's marketing efforts, including user acquisition and its recent recognition as an ABC News App of the Week. Previously, Carr was CMO at the Washington-Post owned Avenue100 Media Solutions where he was responsible for marketing sites such as CourseAdvisor.com, including conceiving, developing, and launching the flagship StudentAdvisor.com product in conjunction with Newsweek.

Carr was also the SVP of the successful Boston-based startup NameMedia.com, where he built the entire marketing operations team from the ground up, and as GM of Business Operations at Lycos, he was responsible for daily operations at several departments, including production, ad operations and customer service. Carr previously was Director of Production at AltaVista and was on the team that helped start and grow SportsLine USA to its successful IPO as CBS SportsLine.

"Brian is an exceptional marketer and operator with a proven track record in consumer media and mobile," said Brad Rosen, Drync CEO. "We are very lucky to have Brian as we take the company to the next level."
