Lincoln Military Housing Announces 2014 Partner of the Year Award

Navy and Marine Partners Win Award for Their Support of Military Families

RICHMOND, VA--(Marketwired - Apr 10, 2014) -  For a second year, Lincoln Military Housing recently presented its Partner of the Year award to Navy and Marine Corp individuals who excel as a liaison between the PPV's (Public-Private Venture) residents and military commands. This year's winners are Marine Corps Family Housing Branch Head Oscar Almond, of Marine Corps Base Quantico, and Navy Housing Partner Sheila Crute, of Naval Weapons Station Yorktown.

These individuals serve as an advocate for the service member and their family when housing issues arise. Each nominee is chosen based on criteria such as having excellent communication, exhibiting a positive attitude, being a team player, being dependable, having effective problem-solving skills, and willingness to go the extra mile for military families.

"Sheila Crute's dedication not only to our military families, but to Lincoln Military Housing truly comes first. Her willingness to help is demonstrated on a daily basis as she often volunteers her own time after hours to assist our team and ensure that our families are receiving the best possible service," says the Lincoln Military Housing team in Yorktown.

Oscar Almond has served as Marine Corps Family Housing Branch Head for eight years, working closely with Marine service members, their families and Lincoln Military Housing to facilitate housing communication and solutions.

"Oscar has been a phenomenal partner. He has a thorough understanding of the PPV program and mission, and works quickly to solve and mitigate any potential housing concern or financial burden for military families," says the Lincoln Military Housing team in Quantico. "He continually works for the betterment of the program and the LMH families, and his support for both is greatly appreciated."

Nominees for the Lincoln Military Housing Partner of the Year Award are selected by Lincoln Military Housing employees that work alongside these exemplary men and women. The award is in its second year and presented each spring at the annual Gold Medallion awards.
