CMHC Statement on the Passing of Former Finance Minister Jim Flaherty

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 10, 2014) - Evan Siddall, President and CEO of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation issued the following statement:

We at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation were saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former Finance Minister Jim Flaherty.

Jim Flaherty served our country with dedication and was Canada's third longest serving Finance Minister. During his tenure, he introduced a number of measures to strengthen Canada's housing finance system as well as CMHC's governance framework. Canada is a better place to live thanks to his life in public service.
