The new FUJITSU ETERNUS® JX60 storage system is an ideal extension for servers like the FUJITSU PRIMERGY® server systems. For those with a limited budget or lacking administrative experience, or for datacenter farms managing massive amounts of data, the ETERNUS JX60 offers low investment cost and easy handling. It also provides the capacity to flexibly support different disk sizes with 2TB, 3TB and 4TB options. The new storage system also offers basic data protection with built-in resilience and can be managed via the standard FUJITSU ServerView® software.
With the volume of data continuing to expand, capacity requirements often exceed the internal storage capacity servers can offer. As a result, many businesses need an easy and effective storage capacity extension. The ETERNUS JX60 goes a step further. It offers a maximum of high-capacity and low-cost 3.5 inch Nearline-SAS hard disk drives using minimum space to cope with ongoing data growth. With up to four enclosures which can be directly attached to a server, the sub-system offers up to 960 Terabytes of storage. It is the perfect choice for environments with only one server based on its capability to extend the storage capacity or in clustered configurations with two servers for high availability.
For example, the ETERNUS JX60 can be used to extend the Fujitsu Cluster-in-a-box solution, the ready-to-run, high availability midmarket offering. This allows the pre-configured and pre-installed solution to be used as central storage resource as well, specifically as a Windows Server®-based NAS (Network Attached Storage) system.
