Hotel Forestel Val-d'Or Continues its Modernization With Support from Government of Canada

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 14, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Hôtel Forestel Val-d'Or Inc. has been granted financial assistance to pursue its renovation and expansion efforts. These improvements will bolster the quality of the hotel's accommodation and support its productivity, thereby enhancing the regional tourism offering.

This support is awarded in the form of a $1,350,000 repayable contribution through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.

  • Hôtel Forestel, which houses the only convention centre in the Regional County Municipality of Vallée-de-l'Or, is carrying out this modernization plan to satisfy the high standards of accommodation sought by business travellers and tourists.

  • This investment involves completion of the second phase of the modernization plan, namely, improving the 45 rooms in the hotel's "North Wing".

  • During the first phase, also supported by Canada Economic Development, the common areas and 45 "East Wing" rooms were renovated.
