Newforma Project Cloud Adds Mobile Field Management Capabilities

Cloud-Hosted Project Management Platform Adds New Mobile Apps to Ensure That Building and Infrastructure Construction Conforms to Design Intent

MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2014) - Newforma, a project information management (PIM) software company integrating people, projects and processes to transform building and infrastructure project delivery, today announced that its web-based project management platform, Newforma® Project Cloud, has added new functionality, accessed at the product and through mobile apps, to ensure that building and infrastructure construction adheres to high standards of quality and conforms to the original intention of the design.

Field management capabilities in Newforma Project Cloud
New capability in Newforma Project Cloud enables tighter management of spatial attributes and quality control.

  • New Quality Control tools enable users to identify, fix and verify on-site activities.
  • New Spatial Index tools allow an administrator to define project spaces, essential to easily locate quality control tasks such as work-to-complete and non-compliance items.

Mobile apps facilitate field management
Newforma Project Cloud integrates with new mobile apps for field management:

  • The Newforma® Tasks app displays punch list assignments, work-to-complete items and other quality control tasks managed in Newforma Project Cloud.
  • The Newforma® Capture app provides one place for project team members to quickly collect and categorize non-compliance items and other field data, supplemented by photos taken with the mobile device.

In addition, an all-new version of the Newforma® Plans app, which displays drawings and specifications hosted in Newforma Project Cloud, now allows users to locate quality control items on plans, adding to the information necessary to manage quality.

Newforma Project Cloud's integration with the new Newforma mobile apps ensures team members of always working with current project information, whether they're working in the field, in the office, or in the job trailer. Integration also eliminates data entry errors and duplicated effort.

Newforma Chief Executive Officer Ian Howell said the Newforma Project Cloud updates are just the latest in a roadmap of extended improvements to the overall Newforma PIM solution. "Newforma Project Cloud provides project hosting in the cloud, where everyone on the project team can access RFIs, submittals, plans, and other key project information from a single source," Howell said. "Many customers have told us they're slashing their submittals review cycles in half using Newforma Project Cloud. Now, with new capabilities for field management, the quality control aspects of the construction phase of project delivery can benefit from similar performance improvements."
