U.S. China Film & TV Industry Expo to Unite Leading Entertainment Nations

Inaugural Expo to Take Place September 15 and 16 in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2014) - The U.S. China Film & TV Industry (UCFTI) Expo announced its inaugural show set to take place September 15-16, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Taking a page from the rapidly blurring geographical boundaries of the internet age, the UCFTI Expo aims to connect the United States and China with the goal of developing mutually beneficial working relationships within the two countries' film and television industries.

"Both the U.S. and China boast thriving film and television industries but do not necessarily take advantage of each other's strengths and resources," said Bianca Chen, CEO of the UCFTI Expo. "Our goal is to provide a platform for both countries' industry players to build professional ties and encourage job creation, creative sharing and learning."

The main objective of the Expo is to foster collaboration by helping U.S. and Chinese companies and individuals navigate Chinese and U.S. industry processes while connecting potential creative, financial and business partners. Additionally, the Expo will showcase products and services that are instrumental in making today's films, television shows, news segments, etc. Further bridging the gap, half of the exhibitors will be from China while the other half will be from the U.S. Categories will include film and television production equipment, display and projection equipment, mobile media, transmission systems, management and information systems, post-production, audio equipment and radio equipment.

"In 2012, China became the world's second largest movie market by total box office, which makes this the perfect time for U.S. and China industry leaders to collaborate and leverage this success for both media powerhouses," said Chen.

The UCFTI Expo will bring together top executives, creative teams, producers and distributors from the world's two leading film and television markets to tackle the big issues and questions related to U.S. and China collaboration, including participation from manufacturers, exhibitors, studios and other companies. Attendees of the UCFTI Expo will have access to a number of panels addressing a variety of topics ranging from navigating Chinese government regulations and filming in China to communicating with Chinese production teams and distribution. Most importantly, they will address financing opportunities for future projects. The panels will be hosted by key experts from both countries and will address some of the main questions industry players have about working with China.

Additionally, influential delegates from China will be in attendance, representing the following organizations: Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV; Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio and Television; Beijing International Film Festival; Shanghai Media Group; Shenzhen Media Group; Huafeng Branding Organization; Suzhou Creative & Design Cultural Industry Expo.
