ROYAL OAK, MI--(Marketwired - Apr 16, 2014) -  Bright Side Dental, a local Metro Detroit based dental group, will award two Michigan students with $500 scholarships that can be applied toward college expenses.

Applicants must be a graduating senior with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher and be involved in extracurricular activities. Qualified applicants will live within Bright Side Dental service areas: St. Clair Shores, Sterling Heights, Warren, Royal Oak, Southfield, Livonia, Canton, Farmington and Clarkston.

Each applicant must complete a one-page essay on the topic: What are some links between overall health & oral health? How do these affect you personally? And, how would you educate the community about these connections?

Essays will be judged by a panel of dental health professionals and will be based upon the students' ability to write standard English, the quality of ideas presented, and the extent of relevant examples that are included.

Essays must be submitted by May 30th 2014.
