NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 16, 2014) - Quin Arts, an exclusive arts and culture program of the newly opened Quin hotel at West 57th Street and Sixth Avenue, launched its spring/summer season with an announcement that Eric Zener is set to become artist in residence. Zener, a leading photorealist painter whose annual solo gallery show in Chelsea at Gallery Henoch has become a popular draw, is the second artist in residence for Quin Arts, following established street artist Nick Walker. In addition to hosting an intimate artist salon on the evening of April 24th, Zener has created original art for the Quin's permanent collection and curated a dynamic display of some of his most renowned pieces for its video art wall during his residency. Zener will also discuss his upcoming solo show at Gallery Henoch, set to open on April 26th.

Quin Arts honors the artistic heritage of the original 1929 hotel on the site, now fully transformed, which hosted resident artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe and Marc Chagall, along with luminaries of the performing arts. Located in the heart of Manhattan's cultural district diagonally adjacent to Carnegie Hall and just blocks from Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art, the Quin is New York City's newest luxury lifestyle hotel.

An innovative platform, Quin Arts enriches the hotel's creative programming by connecting guests with New York City's thriving cultural landscape. Curated by DK Johnston of The Arts Fund, Quin Arts offers an ongoing series of culturally significant events, exhibitions, salons, lectures, film premieres, book debuts, musical performances and artist receptions. This multi-media initiative extends to a substantial permanent collection, as well as visually arresting displays on the lobby's 15-foot video art wall.

Zener's mixed media work is produced through a process that involves mounting photographic transparencies of his paintings on a wooden box painted with iridescent pearl paint and then covering them in resin. Best known for figure paintings of subjects immersed in water, Zener's work celebrates memory, solitude, transformation and moments of suspension. The natural subjects of these paintings offer what Zener has described as a, "sanctuary... a break from the chaos of everyday life." The theme is appropriate for the Quin itself, which offers a refined refuge in the midst of the city.

Holly Breuche, General Manager of the Quin, commented, "We're thrilled to welcome Eric Zener. His sublime style is a direct reflection of what our guests are seeking: a quiet place to retreat within the city and an experience that offers poignant moments of connection. Hosting his show alongside Gallery Henoch is a tremendous honor, and Mr. Zener's work so eloquently addresses everything Quin Arts stands for."

Quin arts curator DK Johnston added, "Travel and art, at their best, both offer moments of inspiration. We're looking forward to an exciting spring and summer season for Quin Arts that will deliver these types of creative touchstone moments to guests of the Quin and native New Yorkers alike. The Quin Arts program travels from iconic photography to realism to street art -- balanced with inherent diversity of artists contributing from around the globe."

Eric Zener's 12th consecutive annual solo show at Gallery Henoch opens on April 26, 2014 -- 555 West 25th Street New York, NY 10001. Simultaneously, ten resins of Zener's most popular works will be among the artwork on display in the Quin's gallery. For details and pricing on the works at the Quin, contact
