REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - April 17, 2014) - SaskCentral is proud to have been named the 15th best workplace in Canada for 2014 by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. SaskCentral was the only company in Saskatchewan to be named in the top 100. A second award named the organization the 10th best workplace for women among companies of any size. SaskCentral was also named as one of only three companies with fewer than 1000 employees to receive a special award for Respect.

This is the seventh year SaskCentral has made the top 100 list.

"To excel in the 21st century financial services industry, it's critical to have the best people possible working in your corner," said Keith Nixon, CEO of SaskCentral. "As the service organization and key supplier for Saskatchewan credit unions, SaskCentral is required to adapt quickly in a complex and knowledge-intensive business environment. By continually striving for a respectful, flexible and welcoming workplace we create the type of culture where employees can focus on the tasks at hand. This award is proof that we are achieving that objective."

Nixon credits SaskCentral employees for this recognition and their contribution to a constructive culture.

"We've worked hard to make SaskCentral a great workplace," says Nixon. "We are very proud our employees have contributed to this and find SaskCentral a great place to work."

The competition for the 100 "Best Workplaces in Canada" is based on two criteria. Two-thirds of the total score comes from an employee survey, along with open-ended comments about the organization. The remainder comes from an in-depth review of the organization's culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.
