Basis Technology to Present Digital Forensics and Entity Resolution Capabilities at Upcoming European Conferences


CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Basis Technology, the leader in multilingual search/text analytics and open source digital forensics, announced today that it will participate in several European technology conferences in the coming weeks. These events include the Counter Terror Expo and the collocated Forensic Expo Europe from April 29-30, 2014, Enterprise Search Europe 2014 from April 29-30, 2014 and the Open Source Intelligence Research Association Summit from May 7-8, 2014. All events will take place in London, UK.

At Counter Terror Expo Basis Technology's Gregor Stewart, Director of Product Management, will present his session "Combating Terrorism with Multilingual Digital Forensics and Entity Extraction: Delivering Mission-Critical Answers for Today's Intelligence Community" at the International Security for an Evolving World theatre. His presentation will discuss the cross-national nature of criminal and counter-terror investigations, which require the analysis of content in multiple languages. He will provide insight into how collaborative Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools, such as Basis Technology's multilingual document triage, text analytics, and entity extraction, can be effective in extracting meaningful intelligence from large volumes of unstructured data. This talk will be held on April 30, 2014 at 11:00am within the Olympia Grand and Olympia West meeting rooms of the Olympia Conference Center.

Chris Brown, Vice President of International Sales, will deliver a live demo of Autopsy 3.1 at the Crime Feature Demo Area on April 30, 2014 at 11:05am during Forensic Expo Europe in the Upper West Hall of the Olympia Conference Center. Autopsy 3.1 is a powerful, free Windows-based digital forensics platform and graphical interface to The Sleuth Kit™ and other digital forensics tools. It can be used by law enforcement, military, and corporate examiners to investigate what happened on a computer. It has been built by Basis Technology and other members of the open source digital forensics community to be easy to use, fast and extensible. Attendees will have the opportunity to see Autopsy in action and hear about how their investigation teams can benefit from this platform.

Also on April 30, 2014 Chris Brown will speak at Enterprise Search Europe at 2:55pm at the Park Plaza Victoria on "The challenges of finding people's names in data and text collections" where he will discuss the value of entity resolution in enabling organizations to identify and manage people's names in very large collections of data and information.

In May, Basis Technology will sponsor the inaugural OSIRA summit. Gregor Stewart will present "A Collaborative, Entity-Centric Approach to Mining OSINT Data," as well as demonstrate Basis Technology's OSINT solution developed on top of the Odyssey Information Discovery Platform. He will discuss how computer-human collaboration can be used to gain useful insights from OSINT data by leveraging the computer's ability to extract and resolve entities from large volumes of structured and unstructured multilingual content. The summit will take place May 7-8, 2014 at Royal United Services Institute.
