Quotes

"One hundred fifty years ago, one of the meetings that would lead to the birth of Confederation three years later took place right here in Charlottetown. So this was a perfect place for a roundtable on Canada's 150th birthday in 2017. I was proud to meet today with community leaders of this highly symbolic region and get their feedback on this significant anniversary."

-Rick Dykstra, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Member of Parliament (St. Catharines)

"Over the past number of months, we have been meeting with Canadians across the country to find out how they would like to mark our 150th birthday in 2017. I invite Canadians to continue to give us their suggestions and to take an active role in planning this major celebration."

-Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
