Scoot & Doodle Enhances iPad App for Teachers and Classroom Learning

Recognized as Best New App & Best New Education App

SAN FRANCISCO, April 22, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Scoot & Doodle, makers of digital learning tools and content for education, has expanded Scoodle Jam's functionality with new classroom features, inspired and vetted by teachers. Now available on the App Store in the U.S., this engaging whiteboard app lets students work creatively, together or on their own, and show their imaginative thinking on any subject. With Scoodle Jam students write, draw, type, collage, and brainstorm with creation tools and cross-subject, educational content.

This version comes with Common Core-aligned projects and templates that include: digital manipulatives, STEAM and entrepreneurship projects and graphic organizers. Now with an updated "solo" mode, students can work on their own or side-by-side with other students — no WIFI or Internet needed. Scoodle Jam turns classroom iPads into a creation-based learning environment.

New Features:

Interactive whiteboard -- "solo" creation mode for classroom use
Projects -- cross-curricular, inquiry-based activities with educator lesson guides
Graphic organizer templates -- venn diagram, story & character analysis, mind mapping, etc.
Background papers -- graph, letter, lined, storyboard and music composition
Digital manipulatives -- place value blocks, money and shape stickers for solving math problems
Improved writing tool -- unlimited lines of text for labeling, math equations & storytelling
Scoodle Jam also includes optional video chat and synced whiteboards for students and families over 13+.

"The great thing about Scoodle Jam is that you can incorporate it into all different subjects. Here, all of the learning components are integrated together -- reading, writing, problem solving, collaboration, the visual skills, the social sense," said Amy J., 3rd grade teacher, Los Angeles. "Having a tool like this where students can work together and explain themselves is really valuable in getting them ready for Common Core."

"We're excited about the latest version of Scoodle Jam for teachers, students and parents. Over the last few months, we have held several pilots with teachers in classrooms from L.A. to Palo Alto and worked hand-in-hand with our ambassador educators across the country to understand what they needed," said Christine Egy Rose, CEO and Founder of Scoot & Doodle. "We've built a product that helps kids process their learning by showing, retelling, and expressing themselves, which reinforces their understanding."

The Scoodle Jam App is available for $2.99 from the App Store on iPad. Download here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/scoodle-jam-collaborative/id640846057?mt=8
