AFL China Announces Return of Historic Game to Honor and Support Veterans and the Military Community

Second Annual Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game Presented by The Judge Group as Part of Philadelphia's The Year of The Veteran

PHILADELPHIA, April 29, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Thursday, May 1, AFL China will host a news conference at The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) at 1:30 p.m. to unveil details about the Second Annual Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game.

The game, to be played June 28 at the University of Penn's Class of 1923 Arena, will feature legendary former players from both Annapolis and West Point. The game will be played the weekend prior to the Welcome America Festival as part of The City of Philadelphia's The Year of The Veteran.

The Navy Veterans won the inaugural clash in a thriller and look to take the Commander's Cup home again this year, however, the veterans will play with passion for a bigger cause.

"We want to focus attention on our military serviceman and help find meaningful careers for them. They are true American heroes," said Martin E. Judge, Jr., the founder and CEO of The Judge Group, the presenting sponsor.

The news conference will be held at The PVAMC, one of Philadelphia's key veterans' medical centers, and will feature a goodwill tour of the facility beforehand by many of the players, coaches and sponsors.

"The list of NFL stars, political leaders, Philadelphia City council members and members of the United States Military that will come together at the press conference is staggering," said David Niu, AFL China President. "This game has drawn a list of notable leaders that shows how dedicated we are to supporting our troops on every battlefield."
