Independent Latin American Carrier Builds a High-IQ International Network With Industry-Leading Juniper Networks(R) MX Series Routers
SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - May 13, 2014) - Juniper Networks (
Neutrona provides a new, neutral gateway into Central and South America for multinational carriers looking to expand into the region. As part of a company-wide initiative to improve network services for its carrier customers, Neutrona recognized the need to create a High-IQ network. It selected Juniper's MX104 and MX480 3D Universal Edge Routers for their ability to maintain a solid network foundation that could deliver industry-leading reliability and resiliency.
Neutrona provides access to multiple sub-sea cable systems, which gives its service provider customers greater flexibility for low-latency network access and connectivity. Neutrona chose to deploy the SDN-ready, Carrier-Ethernet compliant MX104 Universal Edge Router, a modular, full-featured MX Series platform that offers 80Gbps of capacity in a space- and power-efficient form factor. The MX480 provides 2.8Tbps of capacity in a similarly efficient design for high performance, reliability and scalability.
The carrier's neutral approach differs from incumbent providers in that it enables its customers greater flexibility by providing multiple service combinations through both international and domestic transport options. With numerous Point of Presence (PoP) sites and colocation centers in 10 countries, and an extensive network of local partners, Neutrona is the one-stop shop for advanced data networking solutions in Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Neutrona has grown steadily since it acquired IFX's Carrier Services business in 2012 and it recognized a need to upgrade its operations for improved service delivery, throughput and reliability. Juniper is playing a central role in Neutrona's goal of becoming the carrier of choice for any international carrier looking to provide connectivity for Latin America, Caribbean or Central American end users.
